Dr. Liangfu Wu
Dr. Liangfu Wu came to this country from China in 1987. He earned an MPA degree at Iowa State University. He later developed interests in information technology and its application in local government. His interests in computer technology led him to focus his doctoral study at Northern Illinois University on the management of local government information systems. He has been the director of Information Services for the Village of Downers since 1998. Dr. Wu also teaches a core graduate course for the MPA program the Division at NIU. He has a number of publications both in the US and China on the subject of management of IT in the public sector.
In 2005, Dr. Wu published his autobiography in Chinese, and it was once on a regional 10-top best selling list in China.
