



Dr. Kimberly Nelson
Public Administration, Local Government Management, Economic Development, and Budgeting.
Dr. Nelson received her B.A. from Virginia Tech, her M.P.A. from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and her Ph.D. from North Carolina State University. She taught at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington and Southern Illinois University before joining the faculty at Northern Illinois University in 2006. Her research and teaching interests focus on local government management, economic development, and state and local government institutional features. She is a member of the American Society for Public Administration and the International City/County Management Association.
