



Dr. Gerald Gabris
Public Administration, Personnel Management, Organizational Behavior, Local Government Management, and Leadership.
Professor Gabris received his B.A. (with honors), M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Missouri‑Columbia. He taught at Mississippi State University prior to joining the faculty at Northern Illinois University in 1986. His research and teaching interests focus on performance appraisal, organizational development, organizational behavior, leadership, and management systems as they apply to the public sector. He has served as a consultant and researcher with numerous cities and federal and state agencies. He is active in such organizations as the American Society for Public Administration, and has served as the managing editor of Public Administration Review. He presently serves on the editorial boards of Review of Public Personnel Administration, Public Productivity and Management Review, and the International Journal of Organization Theory and Behavior.
