The MPA program offers an integrated course of study incorporating both theory and practice. The public management core, required of all students, promotes applied problem-solving and ethical administrative practices.

Graduates of NIU’s MPA degree program can look forward to excellent job prospects, with career opportunities in federal, state, and local government, as well as in the private and non-profit sectors. A recent survey found that 95% of MPA alumni obtained full-time employment within six months of graduating.
